Katy Perry is set to lend her support to the ADS/HIV charity amfAR at the non-profit's next Inspiration fundraising gala.
AmfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research’s Inspiration gala is set for Los Angeles on Thursday, October 11, 2012 with special guest Sarah Jessica Parker also in attendance along with a host of other wellwishers.
The Inspiration series has been a succesful fundraising and awareness initiative for amfAR and has raised over 5 million USD for the AIDS/HIV charity’s programmes since it was launched in 2010. The galas have been held at city venues including Paris and São Paulo as well as New York and Los Angeles.
Previous amfAR Inspiration performers have included Liza Minnelli,
Grace Jones, Sinéad O’Connor, Debbie Harry, Courtney Love and Cyndi Lauper amongst others.
AmfAR, the international aids charity, supports AIDS/HIV
education, research and treatment programmes, including grass-roots initiatives
in developing countries.
