UNESCO award recognises initiatives to promote reading

Twenty-eight years ago Argentine artist Marta Minjuin created a "Parthenon of Books," assembling 30,000 volumes as a monument to mourn the loss of freedom of expression under Argentina's military dictatorship. The books, comprising titles banned by the military, were later distributed to the public.
